The retention plate is the backbone of your D Series blade: it clamps the comb, cutter and internals together so everything runs true. If yours has cracked, worn loose or gone missing during cleaning, this genuine VUNRO replacement puts the blade back to work for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

Fitting your replacement part

  • Unscrew the two screws on the back of the blade and lift away the old plate. Keep the screws safe, the new plate uses the same ones.
  • Brush away hair and wipe old oil off the blade back before fitting, so the new plate sits perfectly flat.
  • Line the plate up on its locating tabs first, then tighten both screws evenly. Snug is enough, forcing them can crack the plate or pinch the cutter.
  • After fitting, slide the cutter side to side by hand. It should move freely with light, even resistance before you switch the clipper on.
  • Finish with a drop of clipper oil and run the blade for a few seconds before the first groom.
